Reduce your wool miles

Now in, locally produced artisan wool from Highbury Farm, Wood End, Hertfordshire, literally 3 miles from Jolie. This yarn is a completely natural product from Poll Dorset ewe lambs (relatives of the now infamous Plum and Ivy). Spun to reflect the nature of the fleece, it is undyed and has been nowhere near any harsh chemicals. It is a dk yarn, available in 100g skeins or 50g balls.

  1. Can I ask what price is this fabulous wool please??? I can see a gorgeously warm wooly "lamb" scarf wrapped around my neck this winter, Lucey x

  2. Hi,
    50g balls are £6.50 and 100g skeins are £12.95.
The wool is lovely but it is a natural product which feels very fleece like and I'm not sure how soft it would be next to the skin. I have knitted a tea cosy with it and am currently making a toy lamb. I think it is suitable for homey items like cushions and throws. It is as 'lamby' as you can get - a lovely cream with the odd little fleck - would certainly look nice as a scarf. You could always try running something like Kidsilk Haze with it (fine silk mohair) to soften it up a bit. I might have a go at this to see how it feels.
