For Joseph

We said a sad goodbye to Joe last week, who is moving away and will no longer be able to come to Knit and Chat.

We found the perfect pattern for the perfect present on Ravelry - a design by Wondercrumpet. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/homo-sweet-homo

Donna did the knitting in Rowan Alpaca Chunky and Linda made up the cushion using a 'vintage' preloved M&S stripey skirt.
Good luck Joe, we'll miss you and keep up the crochet xx

Ollie

I recently caught up with an old friend - Ollie Taylor.

It was good to see him. Ollie and I knew each other at art school and he is still producing lovely paintings, drawings and making things.

These beautiful sketches of flower studies were work in progress pinned around the room.

These are some of Ollie's hand made cards.

Every pet should have one!

Billie's holiday

Dany and family spent an idyllic week on Mersea Island, Essex

Billie was in heaven.

A perfect week. Crabbing, walking, boating, swimming, eating, knitting, drawing, reading, sleeping, playing music and having a lovely time hanging out with friends and family.
We stayed at http://www.merseacottageaccommodation.co.uk/  it was great.

Dilly dilly

My sister Venice took me on a little walk near her house in Letchworth and hey presto 20 minutes later we ended up at Hitchin Lavender Farm. The colour of the lavender field is quite breathtaking - a real treat for the senses as it smells wonderful and all you can hear is the gentle murmur of bees buzzing.

They grow several varieties of lavender and the plants are available to purchase.

Well worth a visit.... there is a little shop selling products made with lavender and a tea room!

I was inspired to harvest some of my own lavender when I got home. This lot will probably end up as one lavender bag.....
